You learn to pick your battles and fight the ones that you can win. It’s simple logic;
possibly the oldest that a person could learn on the face of the planet. When you’re
human, you accept stupid lessons such as this and you run with it. There is no judgment
from either party and you just go on living the best that you can. That same statement
stands true in today’s society, more so in, New York, New York, 2010. Life here has
been somewhat perfect and you’re led to believe that you're blind to the storm boiling
below. Sure the world has become something like a utopia, but we all know how that
goes. So forget what people tell you and don’t believe them when they say there is
no such thing as magic, or monsters that lurk beneath your bed. They are wrong and
instead of being blinded by all their deceit, you are more than a human, you just don’t
know it yet. You don’t know about the special blood that runs through your veins and
surely time will be a living testament to that and all you’ve lived for. If you just wanted
the truth, then you should have made sure that your family stayed true to their roots.
They hold all the answers to all your problems and it’s funny that they thought they
could cover their tracks – when time holds no bounds. The world used to be a barren
place full of sin and ruled by demons that declared this place as their own. They kept
slaves, people such as yourselves who found no way to protect themselves from those
who wished to bring on the maelstrom. It was then that people with powers started
to emerge and became known the enlistment of supernatural forces. With this new
discovery in magic, the humans revolted against their slavery and destroyed those
who had taken them for granted. After they were free of their oppressors, they merely
took their powers for granted and forgot their roots. They didn’t need their craft
anymore because there was no evil, no more reason to fight, no more reason to be scared.
Now darkness looms on the horizon and after centuries of bliss in this modern day
Utopia, things have started going astray. Little things here and there have started
happening, from simple miniature disasters, to claimed stories of people using super-
natural abilities, to the talk of things brewing up once again. What people don’t know
is that the demons that once ruled this world are slipping back into the picture and to
make matters even worse, those that show signs of being magical are being tracked
down and tagged. This is no longer going to be a peaceful world, the apple of discord
has been bitten into, and now your waking up from that enigma known as comatose.
This isn’t a nightmare that you can escape and consider yourself lucky that you’re awake.
So tell me, where are you going to fit into the picture? Are you going to defend yourself
against the coming storm or are you going to give up before it even begins. Don’t
become a victim, use your loyalties and stand for what you believe in.
I DON'T WANT TO SLEEP, I DON'T WANT TO DREAM.
CAUSE MY DREAMS DON'T COMFORT ME.
